Marvel's Phase 3 Will Feature 'Ant-Man and the Wasp' Arriving 2018

Ready for Phase 3? Marvel has officially announced a few minor details about its plans for Phase 3, coming up beginning in 2016. First off, the studio has confirmed via Marvel.com that they are planning an Ant-Man sequel and it will be titled Ant-Man and the Wasp. "The sequel will mark the first Marvel Studios film named after its heroine." Both Scott Lang and Hope Van Dyne will return in that sequel, scheduled for July 6th, 2018. With this announcement, the two other Marvel movies scheduled for 2018 have been moved up in the year - Black Panther arrives on February 16th, 2018 and Captain Marvel will open on March 8th, 2019. It sounds like those two movies are fully confirmed, too. I'm sure we'll be hearing more news soon.

The announcement on Marvel.com indicates that Phase 3 will include the three aformentioned films (Black Panther, Ant-Man and the Wasp, Captain Marvel) and in Phase 4: "three untitled Marvel Studios films will premiere on May 1, 2020, July 10, 2020, and November 6, 2020." They have Inhumans scheduled in 2019, too. Before we even get there, we have to go through the Civil War phase that begins with Captain America: Civil War arriving next year. Phase 3 is beginning with the Civil War storyline, which will be very interesting to see, and should introduce a whole set of additional characters. Doctor Strange also hits in 2016, with more Guardians of the Galaxy + Thor in 2017 before the big Infinity War begins. Still excited?
